The origins of Château Ormes de Pez go back to the middle of the 18th century.
Set on the edge of the hamlet of Pez, in the west of the commune of Saint-Estèphe, the estate owes its name to a magnificent grove of elms, today disappeared. Together with Château Lynch-Bages in 1939, it was the second property acquired by the Cazes family in the 1930s.
The vineyard's two main plots (gravel and sand) lie on either side of the village of Pez, giving a terroir characterised by its great homogeneity and the consistency of its production. The vineyard is planted to 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Harvesting at Château Ormes de Pez is carried out by hand.
Alcohol, yield and vine age are those of the 2025 vintage; they vary from year to year. Only the area above stays stable from one vintage to the next.
