Tasting
La robe d'un jaune doré profond reflète cette belle maturité. Le nez intense et bien développé aujourd'hui est très engageant : agrumes confits, fruits exotiques, miel et épices douces (cannelle) s'expriment au premier abord puis une touche florale et d'amande fraiche complètent cet ensemble. Concentrée et dotée d'une très belle liqueur, la bouche semble plus jeune mais plus réservée que le nez. Agrumes confis et épices l'emportent avant une finale onctueuse mais élégante, sur des notes miellées et épicées, rehaussée par une note d'écorce d'orange amère. Ce millésime, qui commence à se dévoiler, montre un très beau potentiel de garde et signe un grand Suduiraut.

Le raisin arrive dans des bacs qui sont vidés dans un pressoir pneumatique moderne, horizontal. Le pressurage dure beaucoup plus longtemps que pour les vins blancs secs. Il faut environ 4 heures ou plus pour presser le contenu. Ce sont les jus les plus riches qui sortent les derniers.

Terroir
The Sauternes terroir covers 2,200 hectares 40 km from Bordeaux, between the left bank of the Garonne and the Landes forest. The Sauternes appellation takes in the communes of Sauternes, Bommes, Fargues, Preignac and Barsac. The Suduiraut estate extends over 200 hectares, of which 92 hectares are under vine, on soils composed essentially of sandy-clay gravel. The region's microclimate brings sunny, warm autumn afternoons following the morning mists. This causes, or at least stimulates, the appearance on the grapes of Botrytis cinerea, or noble rot.
