Classified a Second Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Julien in 1855, Château Léoville Las Cases has been run by the Delon family for several generations. The Grand Vin comes entirely from the vines of the Grand Enclos, the historic walled vineyard, and is vinified in a new six-level cellar equipped with 120 vats allowing precise parcel-by-parcel and micro-parcel vinification.
The Grand Enclos is a 55-hectare vineyard, protected by stone walls, first cultivated in 1604. Situated in the northernmost part of the Saint-Julien appellation, it forms two hills sloping down towards the Gironde estuary; the proximity of the river creates a temperate climate and protects the vines from frost. Beneath the emblematic white pebbles visible at the surface lies an extraordinary diversity of soils, forming a complex « Tetris » of interlocking layers: a significant proportion of clay and of prized gravels, at varying depths and degrees of density.
Alcohol, yield and vine age are those of the 2025 vintage; they vary from year to year. Only the area above stays stable from one vintage to the next.
