Tasting
D’un jaune doré soutenu, Château Suduiraut 2010 montre un premier signe de maturité avec quelques reflets ambrés. Au nez, on retrouve des notes confites, de boisé, de miel d’acacia et d’abricot rôti. Avec l’aération apparaissent des notes de prune, de safran, d’amande et de Chartreuse verte. La richesse du millésime apporte de l’opulence à la bouche avec des saveurs de prune, de boisé et de fruits confits. La finale onctueuse se termine par des notes de fève de cacao, de gingembre et de vanille donnant de l’énergie à cette opulence.
On est sur un vin puissant mais sans lourdeur, qui demande encore un peu de temps pour se livrer.

Winemaking
Le raisin arrive dans des bacs qui sont vidés dans un pressoir pneumatique moderne, horizontal. Le pressurage dure beaucoup plus longtemps que pour les vins blancs secs. Il faut environ 4 heures ou plus pour presser le contenu. Ce sont les jus les plus riches qui sortent les derniers.

Terroir
The Sauternes terroir covers 2,200 hectares 40 km from Bordeaux, between the left bank of the Garonne and the Landes forest. The Sauternes appellation takes in the communes of Sauternes, Bommes, Fargues, Preignac and Barsac. The Suduiraut estate extends over 200 hectares, of which 92 hectares are under vine, on soils composed essentially of sandy-clay gravel. The region's microclimate brings sunny, warm autumn afternoons following the morning mists. This causes, or at least stimulates, the appearance on the grapes of Botrytis cinerea, or noble rot.
