Tasting
Jaune paille étincelant, ce vin offre un nez très ouvert mêlant des notes d’orange, de citron confit, de pamplemousse avec un coté acidulé rafraîchissant. Fleurs blanches et frangipane complètent cet éventail de fraîcheur. La bouche reflète la vivacité du millésime et reproduit la gamme aromatique du nez en y ajoutant de l’ananas et une touche vanillée grâce à son élevage en barrique. La liqueur est présente par la densité mais reste discrète. Bien que ronde, la finale laisse surtout une empreinte très fruitée, fraîche et acidulée. Ce vin présente un visage agréable, attrayant, qui permettra de l’apprécier dans sa jeunesse. A coté des millésimes précédents, 2008, n’aura pas à rougir et devrait proposer un millésime gourmand et plein de charmes.

Le raisin arrive dans des bacs qui sont vidés dans un pressoir pneumatique moderne, horizontal. Le pressurage dure beaucoup plus longtemps que pour les vins blancs secs. Il faut environ 4 heures ou plus pour presser le contenu. Ce sont les jus les plus riches qui sortent les derniers.

Terroir
The Sauternes terroir covers 2,200 hectares 40 km from Bordeaux, between the left bank of the Garonne and the Landes forest. The Sauternes appellation takes in the communes of Sauternes, Bommes, Fargues, Preignac and Barsac. The Suduiraut estate extends over 200 hectares, of which 92 hectares are under vine, on soils composed essentially of sandy-clay gravel. The region's microclimate brings sunny, warm autumn afternoons following the morning mists. This causes, or at least stimulates, the appearance on the grapes of Botrytis cinerea, or noble rot.
