Tasting
2024 is a balancing-act vintage. Despite several climatic challenges that limited yields, the fruit of this vintage is at once silky, generous and subtle. The Merlots show a fruity, soft and tender aromatic expression. The particularly successful Petit verdot plays a more important role in the blend this year. Combined with Cabernet Sauvignon, it brings tension, length and complexity. Together they form a harmonious composition.

Winemaking
Fermentation of whole berry grapes in 51 stainless steel, wood and concrete vats, thermoregulated, with capacities designed for plot selections, extraction by pump-over, vatting for 20 to 25 days.
Ageing
33% new barrels - 67% barrels of 1 and 2 wines - 12 months of ageing.
Terroir
The vineyard of Château Poujeaux extends in a single block to the north-east of Moulis, on the gravel rises of Grand-Poujeaux. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot take the lion's share of the property's plantings, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc accounting for only 10% of the vines. Plot-by-plot management of this fine terroir makes it possible to respect the personality of each parcel and each variety, and gives Château Poujeaux its unique character.
