Tasting
Deep garnet color, iridescent with purple reflections. Nose of good intensity, of violet, blackcurrant, flint, cigar box. Soft, velvety, homogeneous attack. Silky tannins. Great minerality, lots of finesse and elegance.

Winemaking
Fermentation of whole berry grapes in 51 stainless steel, wood and concrete vats, thermoregulated, with capacities designed for plot selections, extraction by pump-over, vatting for 20 to 25 days.
Ageing
33% new barrels - 67% barrels of 1 and 2 wines - 12 months of ageing.
Terroir
The vineyard of Château Poujeaux extends in a single block to the north-east of Moulis, on the gravel rises of Grand-Poujeaux. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot take the lion's share of the property's plantings, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc accounting for only 10% of the vines. Plot-by-plot management of this fine terroir makes it possible to respect the personality of each parcel and each variety, and gives Château Poujeaux its unique character.
