Tasting
This 2012 vintage is once again composed of a large proportion of very ripe Cabernet Sauvignon (71%). It reveals a deep and brilliant red color. The bouquet reveals intense aromas of fruit linked to slightly spicy notes. On the palate, it offers an elegant and balanced structure with lots of freshness and fruit. The tannins, suave and round, give a very charming whole, illustrating the entire style of Haut-Batailley.

Terroir
The distinctive character of the Haut-Batailley terroir comes from its situation in the south of the Pauillac appellation, on the border with Saint-Julien. The influence of this neighbouring appellation is felt in the cru, where one finds the grace, charm and delicacy that stand for a femininity often less marked in the wines of Pauillac. This harmonious complexity gives the wine character and a great deal of personality.
