Tasting
Paré d’une robe jaune doré intense, traduisant une forte maturité, le Château Suduiraut 2015 présente un nez encore discret mais très complexe. On perçoit tout d’abord des nuances fumées et minérales ainsi que des fruits à noyaux bien mûrs. A l’aération, apparaissent des notes de miel, de verveine et d’épice douce. L’attaque est suave et rappelle les saveurs du nez, notamment la pêche jaune et les épices. La bouche est puissante, mais tout en retenue et en élégance. La finale très veloutée et fraîche, reste longtemps sur des notes d’orange juteuse et d’épices. Ce millésime est exceptionnellement gourmand, puissant et d’une grande finesse.

Winemaking
Le raisin arrive dans des bacs qui sont vidés dans un pressoir pneumatique moderne, horizontal. Le pressurage dure beaucoup plus longtemps que pour les vins blancs secs. Il faut environ 4 heures ou plus pour presser le contenu. Ce sont les jus les plus riches qui sortent les derniers.

Terroir
The Sauternes terroir covers 2,200 hectares 40 km from Bordeaux, between the left bank of the Garonne and the Landes forest. The Sauternes appellation takes in the communes of Sauternes, Bommes, Fargues, Preignac and Barsac. The Suduiraut estate extends over 200 hectares, of which 92 hectares are under vine, on soils composed essentially of sandy-clay gravel. The region's microclimate brings sunny, warm autumn afternoons following the morning mists. This causes, or at least stimulates, the appearance on the grapes of Botrytis cinerea, or noble rot.
