Tasting
La robe est d’un jaune ambré soutenu. Le nez puissant et fin révèle un bouquet complexe, fondu, où on trouve des arômes de fruits confits, de coing puis des notes de fruits secs et de très beau rancio. La bouche débute par une attaque fine et veloutée ; elle se poursuit de manière très structurée autour d’une belle acidité et d’une minéralité typique du cru. Elle gagne ainsi en allonge accompagnée d’un « rôti » très pur. La finale est nette, fraîche avec une pointe d’amertume rehaussant toutes les saveurs de ce vin à son apogée.

Winemaking
Le raisin arrive dans des bacs qui sont vidés dans un pressoir pneumatique moderne, horizontal. Le pressurage dure beaucoup plus longtemps que pour les vins blancs secs. Il faut environ 4 heures ou plus pour presser le contenu. Ce sont les jus les plus riches qui sortent les derniers.

Terroir
The Sauternes terroir covers 2,200 hectares 40 km from Bordeaux, between the left bank of the Garonne and the Landes forest. The Sauternes appellation takes in the communes of Sauternes, Bommes, Fargues, Preignac and Barsac. The Suduiraut estate extends over 200 hectares, of which 92 hectares are under vine, on soils composed essentially of sandy-clay gravel. The region's microclimate brings sunny, warm autumn afternoons following the morning mists. This causes, or at least stimulates, the appearance on the grapes of Botrytis cinerea, or noble rot.
