Tasting
The first aromatic impression is all softness and subtlety, floral, recalling the hundred-petalled rose and hints of hawthorn. Spring-like, the trail is delicate, refreshed by the sap of a white flower. On aeration, the nose takes on a chocolatey thread, a delectable interplay of praline and coffee. The attack on the palate is true to this, velvety. The tannin already feels very enveloping. A certain dynamism accompanies the tasting and lengthens the finish, tempering the density of the vintage. 2020 is a complete, accomplished wine, erasing in an instant all the trials of a demanding year.

Winemaking
By plot and intra-plot, with gravity-fed vatting, in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats.
Ageing
In French oak barrels, medium and medium-long toast. Racking using the esquive method, drawn off without disturbing the lees.
Fining with egg whites in barrel.
Terroir
The Rauzan-Ségla vineyard covers 52 ha at the gates of the village of Margaux: excellent exposure; a terroir of fine, deep gravel and clay; a typically Margaux blend of grape varieties (54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc); vines with an average age of 27 years; the application of sustainable vineyard management. It is in the vineyard, during winter, that the vintage is prepared: each plot is worked according to its grape variety, its terroir and its earliness, in order to promote even ripening of the berries in healthy conditions.
