Tasting
Faithful to the Margalese style, this 2018 delivers a nose of aromatic finesse. The attack is immediately very enticing with a very beautiful burst of red and black fruits, the overall impression is suave and balanced. Gorgeous.

Winemaking
Light crushing during vatting. Cold pre-fermentation maceration lasting approximately 10 days at a temperature of 6-8°C. Classic vinification with light daily pump-over Long fermentation: 30 to 40 days
Ageing
Malolactic fermentations in barrels. Aged 60% in new barrels.
Terroir
The fragmented layout of the property offers an interesting diversity of soils, with three main types of terroir: clay-limestone and clay-gravel soils suited to Merlot, clay-gravel and gravel soils for Cabernet Sauvignon, and gravel for Petit Verdot. A soil survey has been carried out parcel by parcel. At once firm and unctuous, this is a wine of great character and great ageing potential, born to span decades. The generous proportion of Merlot in the blend also makes it very enjoyable in its early years.
