Tasting
The nose is open and very expressive. Upon aeration, we perceive a rich wine marked by ripe black fruits. The woody notes are discreet and very elegant. The attack on the palate is creamy and velvety. Immediately afterwards, we are invaded by an explosion of fruit. The wine is concentrated, fatty and opulent while the tannins are fine and tense. The new barrels are forgotten in the face of such a structure. The framework of this Château Lascombes is precise and elegant. The finish is extremely long and pleasant.

Winemaking
Light crushing during vatting. Cold pre-fermentation maceration lasting approximately 10 days at a temperature of 6-8°C. Classic vinification with light daily pump-over Long fermentation: 30 to 40 days
Ageing
Malolactic fermentations in barrels. Aged 60% in new barrels.
Terroir
The fragmented layout of the property offers an interesting diversity of soils, with three main types of terroir: clay-limestone and clay-gravel soils suited to Merlot, clay-gravel and gravel soils for Cabernet Sauvignon, and gravel for Petit Verdot. A soil survey has been carried out parcel by parcel. At once firm and unctuous, this is a wine of great character and great ageing potential, born to span decades. The generous proportion of Merlot in the blend also makes it very enjoyable in its early years.
