Vintage benchmark: 83/100 (appellation benchmark, not a score for this wine)
Vintage character: A cool, wet summer demanded strict selection: light, delicious wines, to be drunk young.
Overall reading of the year’s season across Saint-Julien. An estate can depart from it sharply, in frost or hail years, where two neighbours did not make the same vintage. What this particular wine actually gave is on its technical sheet and in the scores above.
The 2007 vintage seems to be a good surprise considering the difficulties we encountered throughout this campaign. We can hope for a level comparable to that of the 2004 vintage. The color is dark ruby, of good density, a harbinger of great maturity and richness. On the nose: fruity aromas dominate, burlat cherry, black fruits, blueberry. The woody notes are perceptible but not dominant. On the palate: freshness on the attack, notes of black fruits, cherry, the structure is elegant, the tannins are ripe, silky. This wine is very clean, straight but very pleasant without any harshness or austerity. The density is present, the balance and the flesh are present. The length on the palate increases and gives a long and tasty finish. ageing will bring even more and more complex olfactory and taste nuances and will make it ever more attractive. To drink in 201
