Tasting
The first run-off tastings reveal fruity wines with intense colors. The 2008 vintage seems to be a good surprise considering the difficulties encountered throughout the campaign. We can hope for a level higher than that of 2007.

Winemaking
The vats are filled and homogenized by pump-over and adjustments by saignée. Alcoholic fermentation in tanks is carried out with selected yeasts and lasts 21 to 28 days. ageing: 18 months in oak barrels, half renewed every year.

Terroir
Château Beychevelle, the Versailles of the Médoc, could only produce a wine of excellence. An exceptional 90-hectare vineyard of deep Garonne gravel, a winegrowing tradition going back to the Middle Ages and painstaking work in selection and ageing bring the wine to its full expression. The blend is 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
