Why this vintage

Critic scores

The 2025 vintage in Margaux

Vintage benchmark: 94/100 (appellation benchmark, not a score for this wine)

Vintage character: A dry, bright summer, tempered by cool nights, gave pure, balanced wines, more classic than sun-drenched.

Overall reading of the year’s season across Margaux. An estate can depart from it sharply, in frost or hail years, where two neighbours did not make the same vintage. What this particular wine actually gave is on its technical sheet and in the scores above.

Tasting

Always true to its style, Les Hauts du Tertre 2025 is a wine of pure pleasure, bursting with fruit and indulgence. The attack seduces immediately with its crunchy, juicy Merlot, harmoniously paired with delicate, suave Cabernet Franc. On the palate, a generous proportion of Petit Verdot adds a fleshy, vibrant texture. The wine is perfectly structured by dense, noble Cabernet Sauvignon, extending the finish to offer superb freshness and impressive length. An alluring and particularly accessible vintage.
