Couleur limpide rouge sombre.
Premier nez intense ou de fines notes torréfiées de cèdre et de Moka se mêlent à des parfums
plus subtils de fleurs.
A l’aération les notes florales se précisent et une délicate note de violette apparait.
L’attaque marquée par la suavité se reprend vite pour dérouler des notes de réglisses et de fruits
noirs. La bouche s’étire sur des tanins onctueux ou les notes fumés viennent rappeler la
signature du terroir de LHB et la dominance des cabernets. La finale juste et rectiligne laisse
envisager un joli potentiel de garde.

Terroir
Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is a fine 19th-century chartreuse set in a thirteen-hectare park. The vineyard occupies the finest parcels on the high and middle terraces of the Garonne gravels of Bordeaux. Woodland and meadow complete the estate. The planted area covers 72 hectares, of which 11.5 hectares are white varieties. The soils are strongly gravelly with an extremely sandy matrix, dissected into remarkably well-exposed and perfectly drained rises. The varieties are 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc for the reds, and 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Sémillon for the whites. The average age of the vines is 25 years.
