La couleur est rubis foncé avec des reflets violets.
Le nez s'ouvre sur un fruit vif. Il se poursuit avec
des notes fumées, épicées (graine de cumin, anis) et de boîte à cigares,
caractéristiques des grands Cabernets de la région de Léogan. L'impression reste fraîche. Les tanins sont
puissants mais d'un très beau grain. La bouche est dense et longue, la finale devient salivante. Ce vin racé
nous offre une persistance et une fraîcheur qui nous mettent l'eau à la bouche.

Terroir
Château Larrivet Haut-Brion is a fine 19th-century chartreuse set in a thirteen-hectare park. The vineyard occupies the finest parcels on the high and middle terraces of the Garonne gravels of Bordeaux. Woodland and meadow complete the estate. The planted area covers 72 hectares, of which 11.5 hectares are white varieties. The soils are strongly gravelly with an extremely sandy matrix, dissected into remarkably well-exposed and perfectly drained rises. The varieties are 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc for the reds, and 80% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Sémillon for the whites. The average age of the vines is 25 years.
