Tasting
Blending is finalized in mid-January with a harmonious, self-evident selection that leads us to include a significant proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon (77%). The 2014 vintage of the Château is comparable to no other, yet entirely identifiable with its terroir of origin.

Fermentations take place in the two recently renovated tank rooms, perfectly suited to parcel-by-parcel vinification, as well as in the climate-controlled cellars for the lots undergoing malolactic fermentation in barrel.

Terroir
Château d’Issan has two distinctive features: the vines are almost entirely enclosed by walls and, unlike its neighbours, the estate grows no Cabernet Franc. The soils form a fine terroir of Günzian gravels and clay-limestone land.
