Tasting
What a frustration to see, once again, such a small yield! But in return, this favors faster ripening, allowing us to have tanks of Cabernet Sauvignon that are homogeneous and that surprise us with their aromatic complexity. Tasted at the estate in June 2014.

Fermentations take place in the two recently renovated tank rooms, perfectly suited to parcel-by-parcel vinification, as well as in the climate-controlled cellars for the lots undergoing malolactic fermentation in barrel.

Terroir
Château d’Issan has two distinctive features: the vines are almost entirely enclosed by walls and, unlike its neighbours, the estate grows no Cabernet Franc. The soils form a fine terroir of Günzian gravels and clay-limestone land.
