Tasting

An intense and deep color with purple reflections and inky touches. An expressive first nose with notes of violet and liquorice. The aromatic power of the Cabernet Sauvignon gives a developed fruit of blackcurrant, red and black fruits with a peppery touch brought by the Petit verdot which intensifies the nose. An elegant oak character reinforces the aromatic complexity of roasting, mocha and cedar. An ample and velvety palate with dense and enveloping black fruit. A beautiful tannic structure, silky and velvety, which prolongs the finish, a wine full of balance and elegance. A great vintage of Château Marquis de Terme.

Winemaking

Plot vinification in thermo-regulated concrete, wood and stainless steel vats, filled by gravity without pumping. integral vinification in barrels. - Cold pre-fermentation macerations; - Alcoholic fermentation with natural yeasts; - Practice of punching down; - Vinification without sulphites;

Ageing

French oak barrels including 50% new oak.

Terroir

Situated at the heart of the village of Margaux-Cantenac, Marquis de Terme lives up to its rank of Grand Cru Classé. Located on a central plateau, its 40 hectares of gravel soils typical of Margaux are planted with noble varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, which have made the international reputation of the wines of the Médoc. When Margaux and its terroir are mentioned, the first words that come to mind are elegance, finesse and delicacy. The appellation also counts the largest number of Grands Crus Classés, among them Château Marquis de Terme.
