Tasting
Blending is finalized in mid-January with a harmonious, self-evident selection… The 2018 vintage of Château d'Issan is marked by the intensity and precision of the fruit from its Merlots, giving it an irresistible attack. It builds on the seriousness of the Cabernet of this great vintage, which is not without recalling the 2016.

Fermentations take place in the two recently renovated tank rooms, perfectly suited to parcel-by-parcel vinification, as well as in the climate-controlled cellars for the lots undergoing malolactic fermentation in barrel.

Terroir
Château d’Issan has two distinctive features: the vines are almost entirely enclosed by walls and, unlike its neighbours, the estate grows no Cabernet Franc. The soils form a fine terroir of Günzian gravels and clay-limestone land.
