Footprint, parcels and their split are measured on the Compagnie Médocaine’s own parcel survey; elevation, slope and aspect on the Mapbox terrain-rgb digital terrain model, derived from IGN’s RGE ALTI over France. Recognised as one of the three most remarkable sites for the production of Aszú wines in Tokaj, the Disznókő estate covers 104 hectares in a single block. Our south- and south-west-facing slopes, planted with the local varieties Furmint, Hárslevelű and Zéta, overlook the plain. Morning mists and warm autumn breezes ensure optimal conditions for the appearance of noble rot. Botrytis develops, concentrating the natural sugars, aromas and acids in the grapes. Our wines owe their verve to the mineral-rich volcanic ground, to rhyolitic tuff and to clay soils.
