Cathiard Vineyard comes from the estate's own vines, set at the foot of the Mayacamas mountains, where the vine has been tended with passion for more than a century. Drawn from our oldest and finest hillside parcels, Cathiard Vineyard reveals the full quintessence of its exceptional terroir, expressing with purity the energy and the deep soul of our land.
All of these improvements in the vineyard have been met with some pleasant surprises and with very distinctive expressions of certain parcels. "Up and Down", the highest hillside parcel, has a tannic profile, firm, tense and fresh, while "Backbone", located on sedimentary soil, offers a more fleshy and unctuous profile, allowing for wonderful blends.
Alcohol, yield and vine age are those of the 2023 vintage; they vary from year to year. Only the area above stays stable from one vintage to the next.
